We are excited to present our architectural design for the animation “After Glow” in collaboration with Fake Animation Studio. This project features an post-apocalypse human habitat tower, called Banyan Tower, located in the fictional city, Space Port. The animation, titled “余晖” (After Glow), explores the complex relationship between humanity and nature in a world of overdeveloped technology.

Set in a time when prolonged conflicts have rendered Earth’s surface uninhabitable, the last remnants of humanity have taken refuge in the Banyan Tower. Surrounding the tower, mysterious stellar auroras have emerged, and some humans have awakened with supernatural abilities. The cause of these phenomena remains unknown, but a clandestine organization known as “星港” (Star Port) is investigating the mystery.

The Banyan Tower draws its inspiration from Soviet brutalist concrete residential towers, embodying a diagrammatic architectural style. The design establishes a robust framework that allows space to be incrementally added as residents’ needs evolve. The transportation core serves as the vertical traffic artery, while functional program spaces are suspended on the tower’s outer periphery.
